ISULFIX · Insulation anchor for concrete and brickwork
ISULFIX is an insulation anchor for fixing insulation boards to concrete and brickwork.
It is a Ø8 PVC plug with a steel nail already fitted. Push it through the insulation into a pre-drilled 8 mm hole and drive the nail: the plug spreads twice along its length, so it grips in hard concrete and in softer brick without changing product. The 60 mm head spreads the load across the face of the board instead of pulling through it.
Choosing the length
Length comes off your insulation thickness. The 110 mm anchor takes insulation up to 80 mm, the 150 mm up to 120 mm, and the 190 mm up to 160 mm. Pick the one that matches the board you are fixing.
Soft insulation needs the wider washer
On soft boards the 60 mm head can still sink into the surface instead of bearing on it. The separate ISULFIX90 washer gives a 90 mm face to spread the bearing. That is a second product, ordered alongside, not an alternative to the anchor.
Before you fix
- Concrete and brickwork only. This is not a timber fixing
- Service class 1 and 2 only, so sheltered from driving rain. Not for exposed elevations. That is counter-intuitive for a façade fixing, so check your exposure before you specify it
- It needs an 8 mm drilled hole. It is not self-drilling
- Match the length to the insulation: 80, 120 or 160 mm maximum
- Soft insulation needs the 90 mm washer as well. Two products, not one
- It fixes insulation. It is not a structural anchor and it carries no building load
