Sealing the timber envelope
Tapes, sealants and profiles are what turn a collection of well-detailed membranes and panels into a genuinely airtight, watertight building. Airtightness tapes bond membranes to each other and to timber, concrete and steel at laps and junctions; EPDM gaskets and compression strips like the FLAT range seal moving or irregular joints; and structural sealants bond and weatherproof façade connections. On decks, joist tapes such as SNAP and DECK BAND UV protect joist tops from standing water, dramatically extending sub-frame life.

Detailing for airtightness and durability
The weak points in any envelope are its junctions — around windows, services, eaves and panel joints. The right tape or profile for each junction depends on the substrate, the movement expected and the exposure. UV-stable products are essential anywhere left exposed, while internal airtightness tapes prioritise long-term adhesion to the membrane system. Matching products to the detail, rather than using one tape everywhere, is what delivers reliable results.
