EASYDECK5 · Complete decking fixing kit for up to 5 m²
EASYDECK5 is a decking fixing kit with everything you need to fix and protect up to 5 m² of deck, in one box.
A small deck needs four different things, and they usually come from four different places: screws for the boards, clips if you want a clean surface, tape to seal the batten, and pads to lift it off the ground. Buying them separately means four part numbers, four minimum quantities and a lot of guesswork. This kit is those four things, matched, in the quantity a 5 m² deck takes.
Why the kit is sized for 5 m²
There are two ways to fix a deck, with visible screws or with concealed clips, and they need different amounts of each item at almost every deck size. 5 m² is the largest deck where a single box covers you whichever method you choose. It is not a compromise between the two, it is the biggest size where you do not have to make one.
One kit covers up to 5 m², around 53 ft². That is an indicative estimate and general guidance for installers, not a specification: it assumes the manufacturer's board and batten spacing, so a different layout will change it. Measure your own deck and allow for cuts and waste.
Building something bigger? The kit is sized for 5 m². Get in touch and we will sort out what you need for a larger area.
What's in the box, and what each part does
Four items. One fixes the deck. The other three keep water out of the structure underneath, which is where a deck actually fails.
- MINI screws: small brown-headed decking screws that fix the boards down to the battens
- SNAP clips: concealed fasteners that hold the board down and hold it clear of the batten, so air can move through the joint
- DECK BAND UV tape: butyl tape run along the top of each batten, sealing every screw hole so water cannot get into the timber through the fixing
- BASEPAD rubber pads: sit under the battens and lift them off the surface, so water drains away instead of pooling underneath
A deck rots from underneath, not from the top. The tape, the pads and the gap the clips create are all there to stop that.
Visible or concealed: which to choose
Visible is faster, more forgiving, and easier to take apart later. You can see every screw, so a damaged board lifts out in a minute. The brown head makes the fixing discreet rather than invisible.
Concealed gives an unbroken surface with no screw holes through the face of the board. It uses more clips, it is less forgiving of variation in board width, and lifting a board later means working back from an edge. Board ends and the perimeter still need visible screws, which is why the kit carries MINI either way.
Neither is more durable underneath. The tape and the pads do that work in both.
Before you fix
- The timber is not in the box. No boards, no battens, no joists
- The ground is not in the box. The pads lift the battens off a surface, they do not make one
- You will need a decking clamp to hold the board spacing while you fix. We sell the one-handed CRAB MINI
- Use a screwdriver with a clutch. Without one you will over-drive the brown heads and chip the coating
- This kit fixes boards to battens. It does not hold the deck up. Anything raised or elevated, or carrying load, is structural and sits outside what this product does
What you'll also need
Everything in the kit is also sold on its own: MINI decking screws, SNAP concealed connectors and DECK BAND UV tape. See the full decking screws and connectors range, and our guide to hidden versus visible deck fixings if you are still deciding.
Common questions
Does this kit have an ETA or CE marking? No, and it does not need one. Those cover structural fixings, where a published load value matters. This is a deck surface kit: it fixes boards to battens and keeps water out of the substructure. It carries no structural load, so there is no approval to hold.
Can I use this for a raised or elevated deck? The kit fixes the deck surface. It does not support it. A raised deck, a balcony or anything carrying load needs a designed substructure and structural fixings, and that sits with your engineer or builder. Use this for the boards on top.
Do I still need the clips if I'm fixing with visible screws? Board ends and the perimeter need visible screws whichever method you choose, so the MINI screws get used either way.
Sold as one complete kit. One box covers up to 5 m².
